Our collaborative model for your treatment begins the first time we meet. I want you to understand your injury, treatment and recovery. I have an active and intelligent patient population. I work with you to understand and appreciate your injury. Together we devise a treatment plan that will put you back on the road to recovery.
How I use Physician Assistants
Physician Assistants have 6-7 years of training prior to becoming a PA. Our PAs are experts in the field of orthopedics and orthopedic surgery. They assist me in all aspects of your care, from your pre-operative evaluation to your surgical experience, and finally throughout your follow up care. When you come to our clinic, you will always see me, Annie or Bridget, and frequently several of us.
Some doctors use surgeons in training to assist with, or even do surgery, under their supervision. That is not our model. If we have selected an operative approach to your problem, I will do your surgery, with the assistance of a PA.
Meet the Team
Annie knew at a young age that she would pursue a career in medicine. She grew up in Alaska, where she developed a love for the outdoors. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Missouri State University. Annie is board certified by the NCCPA and is a fellow with the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has over 11 years of experience as a physician assistant in orthopaedics, and has worked with Dr. Dorf for the last seven years, both in clinic and in the operating room.
Annie loves living in the mountains, where she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and snowboarding. She is inspired on a daily basis by her active patients, and is passionate about helping others get back to the activities they love. Annie lives in Breckenridge with her husband and their golden retrievers.
Originally from Minnesota, Lindsay obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Cultural Studies from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She spent the next two years gaining valuable experience working with health care providers in rural Kenya as a volunteer with the US Peace Corps. After this, she moved to Colorado where she received her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies in a dual degree program through Red Rocks Community College and St. Francis University. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Lindsay loves almost any activity that combines a physical challenge with the outdoors. Since moving to Colorado, she has thru-hiked the 486-mile Colorado Trail and completed an ultramarathon, as well as many other shorter races. She lives with her fiancé in Eagle County where they enjoy backpacking, camping and snowboarding.
Olivia believes in an active lifestyle and takes pleasure in helping patients return to the activities they enjoy. She is a Colorado native who grew up working on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. When Olivia returned to Colorado, she studied Biology at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She first discovered the world of orthopedics in Denver where she worked at Western Orthopaedics as the front desk team lead. Olivia decided to move to the mountains in 2016 to become a more active individual. She enjoys trail running, trail building, and snowboarding.Olivia is in many ways the glue that keeps our team together. She will help with scheduling a procedure like a xiaflex or PRP injection. She coordinates studies like MRI’s or Cat Scans.
Olivia and I sit together daily and go over MRI’s, formulating a plan for each patient. If you have had an MRI, Olivia will give you a call back informing you of your results, and the plan we have discussed. Olivia is in clinic when I am in the operating room to help with issues if they come up. She is always available to help, and has my ear throughout the day.
Kara has lived in the mountains for 10 years. She has worked at Vail Summit Orthopaedics for the last four years. She enjoys kayaking, Crossfit and running. She loves spending time with her husband and three dogs.
Kara is a critical member of our team. On top of coordinating my schedule she is instrumental in:
Scheduling patients for surgery, xiaflex injections and nerve studies.
Assists patients with insurance questions during the verification and precertification process.
Completes estimates of financial responsibility and explains payment options to patients.
